BACKHOE OPERATOR SAFETY TRAINING

Learn the art of multitasking with this backhoe operator safety course. The course will give you a basic understanding of backhoe operation, maintenance, and load handling. It will also cover relevant federal and provincial legislative requirements applicable to the workplace. Topics include:

  • Safety regulations: Learn federal, provincial, and company regulations, as well as employer, supervisor, and co-worker responsibilities.

  • Components and functions: Analyze main controls and gauges, hydraulic system, steering system, cylinder assemblies, front loader assembly, engine compartment, and wheels and tires.

  • Operating safely: Receive guidance on start up and shut down procedures, overloading and improper loading, maneuverability and stability, slide slopes and grades, workplace hazard assessment, bucket filling and dumping, digging, backfilling, and leveling.

On-Site Backhoe Training

Our certified trainers can conveniently train your operators on your equipment at your facility. On-site training begins with a morning session of classroom theory and a written examination followed by an afternoon of practical hands-on training.

In-Class Backhoe Training

The in-class training program consists of a morning classroom session focused on theory and an afternoon session with hands-on practical training. An evaluation session ends the day before certifications are given.

ONLINE TRAINING

With online training, students have two weeks to complete the self-directed, web-based theory session. Once completed, a half-day, hands-on practical training session focuses on the complete understanding of workplace hazard assessment, equipment inspection, and a practical operator evaluation.
